Mayor Brick recognized Judge Harry Jacobs of the Bedford Municipal Court who is in the audience.  He is a 1974 graduate of Chagrin Falls High School.

Mayor Brick thanked all of the Village employees for exceeding their 2011 financial goals and actually generating a surplus in our general fund.  This is really important in these difficult economic times and our employees have really done a great job!

Mayor Brick announced his appointments to the following commissions:

Shade Tree Commission
Glenn Wyville    Reappointment (3-year term)

Arts Commission
Jean Hood       Reappointment (3-year term) 

Moved by Mr. Patton, seconded by Mrs. Evans to confirm Mayor Brick’s appointments.  Carried.  Ayes: Chess, Evans, Holdren, Lutz, Newell, Patton, Subel.  Nays: None.

Mayor Brick said let me know if you have any additions or suggestions to our 2012 village priorities.  And remember, this is a living document.

Mayor Brick announced that our Chagrin Valley Dispatch Council received a grant of approximately $600,000 recently to purchase radio equipment in the seven to eight hundred megahurtz range that will greatly improve our ability, our safety force’s ability to communicate with other safety forces in the event of emergencies.

Mayor Brick said I hope you are as happy as I was to see that Chagrin Falls residents indicated that they were among the happiest in Cuyahoga County in a recent Plain Dealer survey.
