The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Janis Evans.

PROPOSED PARKING PERMITS FOR OVERNIGHT PARKING

Chief Brosius said since the overnight parking ordinance was changed from midnight to 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. there have been people who have had problems parking in the community because they don’t have garage space or driveway space. For years they have been mulling over the idea of issuing overnight parking permits to residents with a hardship who apply and qualify.

This was discussed, comments were heard, and questions were answered. Mrs. Evans said this will be discussed further.

MISCELLANEOUS

Mr. Subel said he received a letter from a retailer in town expressing their concern about motorcycle parking in the Village. Mayor Brick said he does not think they can reserve spaces across the street on Main Street only for motorcycles. He said the issue of smoking was also addressed in this letter and that is not controlled by the Village, that is the Board of Health. Chief Brosius said he does not think they can make any rule that prohibits motorcycles from parking in public parking spaces anywhere.

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
