ABR meets the 1st. first and 3rd. third Tuesdays of the month at 8:30 AM in the Council Chambers located at Village Hall, 21 W.Washington Street.

Submission deadlines for ABR: additions, exterior alterations, or submissions requiring notice, or that are   (50) years or older requires a 20 days for submissions prior to the Tuesday meeting.

Submissions for for signs, fences, and additions or exterior alterations less than (50) years old requires 11 day for submission.

Occupancy Permits:
Are required for all retail, Office, and Commercial areas, before opening for business, and must be approved by the Zoning and Fire Departments.

A floor plan is required showing entrance and exits, and layout of the area being occupied.
Emergency contact information is for our Police and Fire Departments, so we may have a contact after business hours if an emergency arises.

Annual renewals will be mailed out and must be completed and returned. There is no fee charged.

Signage:
A permit is required for all Signs and awnings and have to be cleared for zoning and approved by ARB before being installed, this includes window signs.

No Banners or portable signs are permitted
Temporary signs for new business are permitted, contact the Zoning Department for information.

Trash removal: 
The Village does not pick up trash for commercial properties. The tenant or property owner is responsible for trash removal.

Residential solid waste service is provided at no additonal cost to residents.  All trash must be contained in a trash container (up to 250 pounds per pick up), curbside recycling is included in the residential service.

Trash containers have to be put out the night before pick up, and brought in the day of pick up.

Construction:
All construction that involves alterations, additions to the structure elements, Electrical, Plumbing, or HV AC may need State approval. Contact the Village Building and Zoning Department for further information.

Any exterior changes including facades, have to be approved by the Village ARB and may need to be approved by State. Covering of windows and doors is prohibited.

Hours of Construction are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Snow Removal:
It is the tenant or property owners responsibility to have ice and snow removed from sidewalks.

The Village of Chagrin Falls is a participating community in the of the Heritage home loan program sponsored by Cuyahoga County Treasurer.  The Cleveland Restoration Society and KeyBank administer the program to assist owners in the restoration of older and historic homes.
Free Technical Assistance is offered as well as;

Low Interest Loans for:

* Exterior and interior projects can qualify
* Health and code violations can be corrected with the loan
*  No requirment to use any specific contractors
*  No requirment to get a specific number of bids
*  Homeowners generally have one year to complete projects

There is no out-of-pocket cost for the loan, no closing cost and no points. There are also no income restrictions and interest from the loan is tax deductible.
