The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Steven Patton.

2010 PROPOSED BUDGET

Mayor Brick gave an overview of the budget from the administration’s point-of-view. He explained the reasons for the projected General Fund deficit and listed the actions that have been taken to reduce it to an acceptable level.

Mr. Himes informed the Committee of the items that have been removed from the budget this year to reduce the deficit. The Fire Chief, Police Chief, Service Director, and Utilities Superintendent explained their departmental budgets. Mr. Bloom explained how projected revenues were calculated.

After general discussion and several small changes, the Committee agreed to place the budget on the Council agenda for March 22, 2010.

The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
