VILLAGE OF CHAGRIN FALLS
SAFETY COMMITTEE
May 12, 2008
Members present: Lutz, Watterson, Evans
Also present: Himes, Bloom, Brosius, Alunni, Williams, Milko, Subel, Lannon
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Janna Lutz.
VICIOUS/DANGEROUS DOGS
Mr. Watterson commented that the Ohio Revised Code already classifies pit bulls as dangerous animals so they can not undo that.
The Committee discussed possible changes to the Village’s legislation with regard to dangerous dogs.
John Mitchell, 96 Church Street, expressed his concerns of pit bulls in the Village. He talked about his fear of living next door to two pit bulls and how his 4-year-old son was menaced. He named several communities that have banned the pit bull breed altogether. He said this is something that he wants to see changed. He doesn’t want to have to be in front of this Committee after someone has been bitten or mauled.
Comments were heard from the audience.
The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
