2009 ROAD PROGRAM BID RESULTS

This was reviewed and discussed in length. Mr. Lannon said, although paving roads is not the low bidder’s specialty (Great Lakes Crushing), it is the general consensus that they will be able to complete this project satisfactorily.

Moved by Mrs. Lutz, seconded by Mr. Subel that we award the contract to Great Lakes Crushing. The motion carried unanimously.

NORTH STREET SURVEY

Mr. Himes explained that June 15, 2009 was the deadline for returning the survey. Sixty-two surveys were mailed to North Street residents. After the first article in the newspaper, requests were received by residents of side streets to be included so there were a few additional surveys that were picked up by residents on those streets. There was a return of 61%. 68% rated the road either poor or impassible, 63% felt that it was high or highest priority for work, and when cost was not considered as a factor 71% said keep the bricks. When they were asked to consider cost, it dropped down to 50%.

Mrs. Evans asked if they can find out how much it would cost both ways? Mr. Lannon said yes, he will do a cost of options.

The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
