VILLAGE OF CHAGRIN FALLS
PARKS COMMISSION
October 26, 2010
Members present: deConingh, Lutz, Zalba
Also present: Ben Himes, Jeff Snedeker
The meeting was convened in Council Chambers at 8:40 AM.
PARKS COMMISSIONERS
Because Steve Miller will be moving to South Russell and Tony Zalba’s work schedule is increasingly busy and unpredictable, two new members of the Commission need to be appointed for terms beginning in 2011. Tony will inform Mayor Brick of this need. Tony has offered to continue serving until a replacement is found.
RIVERSIDE PARK
Two ‘Autumn Blaze’ maples, afforded by the Jaycees’ recent $1,000 donation to the Parks Commission, have been planted in Riverside Park, and the middle new oak has been replanted on the south side of the brick walk opposite the swings. The area where this tree was previously located has been reseeded. The Jaycees’ donation will also partially fund a new concrete aggregate drinking fountain to be located in the playground area after the restoration of the park field following Blossom Time and Art by the Falls.
2010 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The Commission reviewed a tentative draft. All agreed the parks, hayracks, and hanging baskets looked wonderful this summer, and thanked Jeff Snedeker for the Service Dept.’s hard work.
2011 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The Commission discussed possible items for a tentative draft which Anne deConingh will compose and e-mail for consideration, changes, additions, etc.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:08 AM.
NEXT MEETING:
Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 8:30 AM in the Village Hall Council Chambers.
