MINUTES

It was moved by Janna Lutz and seconded by Anne deConingh that the May 24, 2011 meeting minutes be approved.

CF Village Website – Ben Himes will look into posting meeting minutes for October 26, 2010; February 22, April 26, May 24, 2011.

TRIANGLE PARK

JULY 4 ANTIQUE CAR SHOW
• Concerns after last year’s event: broken sprinkler head, oil pan leaks, and exhaust heat that killed grass. Also, center circle bricks giving way because of no base underneath; concrete paver bottoms rotting.
• There will be 60 cars on N. Franklin St., with some in crosswalk spaces.
• Will put cars on Triangle only as a last resort.
• Rain will most likely discourage antique car owner attendance.

PLASTIC BARRIERS
• Supposed to be disassembled and stacked at Triangle point in a neat triangular arrangement. Terry Taggart gave Janna a photo of the way this should be accomplished.

FARMERS MARKET
• Asked Janna to call Susan Harris White, liason for the Farmers’ Market, to let them know about proper storage of barriers at the Triangle point.
• Asked Janna to contact Susan about requiring vendors to haul away their refuse, not leave it in the CF trash bins.

BANDSTAND
• Missing “8” from 1877 date on west side of Bandstand is currently at the Service Dept. garage, waiting to be repaired and reinstalled, or replaced.

STAIRWAY TO THE FALLS

• A purchase order has been put out to Clearly Visible Mobile Wash to power wash and stain the stairway.

BEAUTIFICATION – Chairman Connie DeGood is planning to move to Columbus, OH, probably before the fall clean up date. Beth Skeel, Janine Bauman, Anne deConingh, Wendy Naylor and Connie will meet on Wednesday, June 29 to discuss Beautification’s future organization and continued efforts.

RIVERSIDE PARK

• YOGA BY THE FALLS July 18 event at the entrance to the park: Ben Himes has advised YourhomeTown director, Kathleen Visconsi, that sponsor signs may not be displayed in the park. Concern about the event occupying parking in the East Orange St. municipal lot was expressed by a Village resident, but this was deemed not to be a major problem since it runs only from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. Parking in metered spaces was available. Following this activity, many participants shopped in the Village.

• PARK RESTORATION will begin, weather permitting, on Wednesday, June 29, by Frank Artino’s Briar Hill landscape company.

• BLOSSOM TIME CARNIVAL –

o Anne thanked John Brockway for his very successful barrier construction at the entrance to the park during Blossom. For the first time, there was almost no damage to the shrubbery and flowers in this area.

o Ben Himes along with Mayor Tom Brick, Jeff Snedeker, John Brockway, and Chief Brosius, generally meet with the Jaycees regarding Blossom Time Carnival issues about a month after the event in June and again in February preceding the next year’s carnival. Anne will convey to Ben the East Orange Street neighbors’ concerns regarding the 2011 set up and tear down problems; also, pruning of tree limbs to make way for carnival rides.

• OPEN AIR CINEMA events (Movie Night by the Falls) will occur on Fridays at 8:30 PM on July 29, August 5, 12, and 19 in the area just south of the municipal parking lot. Steve Miller is making arrangements to use Township Hall in case of inclement weather or the park not being ready for use.

RIVER RUN PARK – Shirley Ashby asked if something can be done to improve the drainage around the drinking fountain since it is often muddy. The Service Dept. will look into it.

UPPER LANDING BY THE STAIRWAY TO THE FALLS NEXT TO THE POPCORN SHOP – Janna said she was going try to weed this area, but John Brockway said he can spray it with weed killer.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:22 AM.
